Last night brought an end to the Daggers level 70 raiding calendar.  Rather than go off and do something different, we continued with our Black Temple progress from last Thursday.  Having taken down 5 bosses on Thursday, the path was cleared to the final 4 bosses that were left standing.  Although we didn't get to see Illidan on the night, we did manage to add 2 more boss kills to our list and have a few attempts on the Illidari Council to finish the night.  Starting with Reliquary of Souls, we had 2 attempts before bringing this boss down.  A strange, but kinda cool encounter starts with a gauntlet type run from the area's entrance to the boss itself.

After looting, the door was unlocked to the next boss, Mother Shahraz (which cannot be done until Shade of Akama, Teron Gorefiend, Gurtogg Bloodboil and Reliquary of Souls are all completed).  We had a practice wipe on the boss, before taking her down fairly easily in the end.  More Tier 6 tokens were to be had from her, so gratz to the loot winners.

We then headed up to face of with the Illidari Council.  Similar in pull to the High King Maulgar fight in Gruul's Lair, it has to be executed to perfection in order to succeed.  Unfortunately, we never managed to get them down.  Had the expansion not been coming this week, i'm sure we'd have been back in there again and would have finished them off and had a look at the Illidan fight itself.

Thanks to all Daggers for making all the boss kills possible over the course of our level 70 raiding schedule.  Bring on level 80 raiding!

With this being our final week of raiding before Wrath comes out next week, we decided to continue with our quest to down new bosses.  Our destination last night was Black Temple.  We've already downed Naj'entus, Supremus and Shade of Akama in the past, so we wanted new blood!  After only an hour and half (or thereabouts), we'd one shotted Naj'entus and Supremus and also taken down Shade of Akama again.  Our next target was Teron Gorefiend.  It didn't take long before he hit the dirt, another one shot and a guild first to boot.  After looting and buffing, we headed deeper into the Temple and faced another new foe, Gurtogg Bloodboil.  On only our second ever attempt (the first being last night too..), we got him down.  His blood no longer boils!  Gratz to the Daggers on an impressive 5 boss downing session in our 3 hour timeslot.  Only 4 bosses remain standing, so we'll be back at the weekend to hopefully finish some more off before Wrath.

Gratz to all for making the raid a succesful night again.

After our recent attempts to down Kael'thas in Tempest Keep, the Daggers headed back in last night in an attempt to once and for all bring him down and finally complete our Tier 5 raiding schedule.  The fight itself is quite complex and requires great execution in order to succeed.  With 5 phases, it requires a focused team.  We managed to get him down on our third attempt of the night.  After looting Kael, we headed to Hyjal to finish off the night and one shotted both Rage Winterchill and Anetheron.

Big gratz for another guild first and gratz to the loot winners.  In addition, many of us finally completed the "Vials of Eternity" quest and gained the Hand of A'dal title and also picked up the nice rings from Scale of the Sands reputation.

As is normal tradition, we took a screenshot of the successful kill.  Unfortunately, many of the raid had popped Invisibility potions and therefore missed out on the photo (or took a portal to Shattrath to head to Hyjal for the rest of the night)...

After last Thursday's trip to the Summit, the Daggers headed back to Hyjal on Sunday night with one target in mind, Azgalor.  After taking down Rage Winterchill, Anetheron and Kaz'rogal again with ease on Thursday, the path was cleared for a new boss kill attempt.  On our third try, we took him down with a fair amount of ease.  This was the introduction to our first Tier 6 drops (gloves) which were handed out and will be used to bolster our gear for future raiding before WoTLK hits us.  Gratz to the Daggers for another boss kill and gratz to the lewt winners.

After buffing up again, we proceeded for our first ever attempts on the final boss in the instance, Archimonde.  In a nutshell, this fight is just nuts and will require precision from every member of the raid in order to succeed.  One death in the raid pretty much means the raid will not succeed.

Below is a picture of the successful Azgalor kill team.

Mystic Daggers has very recently become the proud guild of a very exalted citizen of WoW. A little mage with a huge thirst for killing. A guy who thinks nothing of drilling a few hundred horde before breakfast and going on to dine on piles of frozen zombie carcasses for supper. Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, MALEBOLUS has reached a most amazing achievement of 100,000 Honour Kills!!

With the recent advent of achievements coming into the game he has consumed the PvP ones like Homer Simpson consumes pies.Quickly and with limitless insatiability.

So lets learn a little about our enigmatic little killer!

Brought up in the land of ice and snow in the Coldridge valley and Dun Morogh, our mage wields the power of ice and freezing cold with devastating relish ...... especially if you happen to be a zombie or some other circus FREAK (horde).

You see, one day, when he was young and hauling barrels for the barley brewers, his village was attacked and destroyed by a bunch of rogue hordes on crack!! From that day Malebolus swore to commit genocide on all races of Horde at every opportunity! With these words of his great boyhood mentor Ozzy Togglewood still ringing in his ears he set forth on his quest: "We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Alterac, we shall fight in Arathi Basin , we shall fight with growing confidence in Warsong Gulch, we shall defend our territory, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches of Stranglethorn, we shall fight on the landing grounds of Netherstorm, we shall fight in the fields and the streets of Goldshire,we shall fight on the hills of Hillsbrad, we shall never surrender, we shall never give in."

I'm sure you will agree , he has been extremely successful in his quest ...

So how does it feel to be sitting there on 100,000 Honour Kills?
M:"Well I feel great!!" he said , while relaxing with a few bourbons in a quiet drinking hole, one of many where the young wizard annonymously frequents - not wishing to draw attention to himself. You never know who might be spying for the Horde after all. It's been known for Horde spies to attempt to "nobble" a horde killing talent like Mal in the past.
M:"Its a really great feeling to kill so many Hordes, they are ugly , and they smell really bad".

So what is his motivation ? Did he always have this target in mind or was it just coincidental?
M:"deffinitely a coincidence, I don't aim for targets , I just PvP too much I guess  I love it  I'm a 'crazy killer' "
He he indeed he is and it must be great for any young up and coming horde ganker to see the lust for horde blood remains undeminished in such a veteran.

So what about those early years?Ever in the big PvP guilds like Ronin?
M:" I was never in a PvP guild but on my own , and teamed with my big pal Grye who is also PvP mad and was a brilliant flag carrier in Warsong Gulch back in the day. I owe him a lot and for many of those early Warsong Gulch victories. Unfortunately my other good friend in the game Aldavian wasn't so into PvP"

Ofcourse we all know Grye , or the great bear , another Mystic Daggers pvp legend and our revered mage officer Aldavian needs no introduction and we're gratefull for him bringing such great players into our guild such a long time ago. So to Mal , the BG victory is most important?
M:"In the early days it was just about the killing. And it still pretty much is , I just love killing horde , but yeah in later years the buzz of beating them into the ground aswell is also a turn on. Ofcourse when you see exhalted getting nearer on a BG , then winning becomes more important."

So whats his favourite BG? I start to try and evoke memories of the good old 12 hour long AVs but he's having none of it.
M:"WSG deffinitley" he responds with blinding speed , like one of his instant pom pyro's on speed!! "I love it , always loved that BG , and it was so hard in the old days when it was against horde on our realm - they had a good team."

Indeed , Justicar a tough one to get, what was the last one to get exhalted?
M: "hehe, WSG  Its tough to get honour in there, games can be long and still lose"

Did he ever make Grand Marshal?(probably an impossible feat without a guild helping you)
M:"Nope lieutenant commander, but i Was 11th on this server at the time."
No mean feat in those days, especially if you actually needed to sleep at some point.

So with that our little mage glugs his last glass of Bourbon and he's up, bouncing on his feet to move on to more killing.
M: "I've got to grab some food but fancy some BGs later?"

He he , he's irrepressible. Ofcourse I'm only too happy to join the BG master and hope to pick up a few tips along the way.

So the light is still burning bright in our psycho mage and Horde cannot be safe anywhere still. Raise a glass guildies to Malebolus , an incredible achievement.Feel free to buy that man a drink! Well done Mal
