Just a quick update.  Atela pencilled in a Trial of the Grand Crusader 10-man for last Thursday night in an attempt to go in as a guild and see how we got on.  We have been in a couple of times in the past (and a few had already tried in PuGs), but never really faired too well.  Well... this time we didn't disappoint.  On the night, we downed four of the five bosses - Beasts, Jaraxxus, Faction Champs and the Twins.  To top that off, we only used around 10 of the 50 attempts to get that far!

Only Anub'Arak remains alive in the instance, so i'm sure we'll go back and use the saved instance to attempt and get him down.  The fight on heroic is quite a bit more difficult than the normal version, so its going to take a great team effort to get him down.

Gratz to all who came and thanks to Atela for organising.

Having cleared the "Storming the Citadel" area four times on the bounce in Icecrown Citadel 10-man (and last night in just over an hour), it was time to take a look at the Plagueworks area of the instance.  After making our way through the trash and big doggies, we looked upon Festergut.  This boss is similar to Patchwerk in Naxx, where its a dps race to beat the short (5mins) enrage timer.  After only a few practice wipes, we got him down.  Gratz to the loot winners.

We had a few attempts on the next boss, Rotface, but on the night didn't manage to get him down.  I'm sure we'll be back before reset to have another attempt though.  We did make progress with the fight, so it won't be too long before we're looting him.

Happy new year everyone!

Better late than never...  On 27 Dec 09, the Daggers headed back into ICC 10 in an attempt to finish off the job we started earlier in the week - to take down the Deathbringer.  After a couple of attempts, we managed to get him down.  A few days later we were back in there and cleared the bosses within a couple of hours - even managing to get the "I've gone and made a mess" achievement from the Deathbringer fight too.

Gratz all who helped to get this far so quickly and here's looking forward to the new wing that opens later this week!

Icecrown Citadel became infamous when Kil'jaeden hurled the Lich King back into the mortal world. Now it's under attack by a fearless team of adventures known as Mystic Daggers. In an attempt to thwart evil, find epic loot, and possibly chocolates, our intrepid team lurched forward into the fray on Monday night to meet Lord Marrowgar.

And bosh, job done.

The fight's not too bad and once the team have the general technique down pat, it's just a question of concentration and observation. So ... moving on ... Lady Deathwshiper.

A great deal of chin scratching and general gasping can be seen here. How could such a small bauble of power cost us so much time? This fight is way harder than the first, but once we figured out all the necessary signals and got the damage transfer between boss and adds sorted, it was boshy boshy time.

Once she's down, a lift appears from above and after some 'interesting' fights, you move to the Gunship Battle. This is a lot of fun, but again, not too hard once you have the team working in two teams, one to defend your own ship, and the other to rocket jump over to the other when needed. No real shot available of the ship blowing up ..... several of us were caught in the blast and, down to a bug, lost tokens. Hopefully the ticket will refund us. We didn't worry too much about the loot. We'll be going back, and the items that did drop were useful to the people that could see them, with the exception of the mail item, which is only used by lesser classes. So, to prove our bold deeds did happen, here's a picture of the far side of the boat fight, with the fight against Saurkraut about to begin...

Good job all who took part, and good luck to those going back on Tuesday to complete the job.

On Sunday night we headed back into ToTC 25-man in an attempt to finish off the job we started a couple of weeks ago.  After one shotting the Beasts, Jaraxxus, Faction Champions and the Twins, we headed for a good attempt at the final boss, Anub'arak.  He pretty much wiped the floor with us in our attempts last week, but this week we tried some new tactics.  We did spend a bit of time practicing as I like to call it (others would call it wiping continuously...) but we got him down in the end.  Our attempts just got better and better each time - one attempt which saw us wipe at the enrage timer when he only had around 120k HP left - less than the normal 1% wipe that we've become used to!  Anyway, gratz to all for us clearning yet another instance.
