by Gingaldo on January 05, 2009, 04:00:00 PMAfter Thursday's 25-man raid (which involved killing Sartharion in Obsidian Sanctum, Archavon in Wintergrasp and clearing the Arachnid Quarter in Naxx 25), we headed back to Naxx last night for more action. We proceeded to clear the Plague Quarter again fairly quickly and were then faced with the question of where to go next. So, we rounded up a couple more healers and decided to have another crack at Patchwerk in the Construct Quarter. As we were slightly low on healers the last time we tried the fight, Patchwerk blew us away. Last night was different though. We were better geared and more prepared than last time. After a couple of practice attempts, we got the big fattie down. A new year and a new boss kill. Gratz to all that came last night and gratz to the loot winners.
Patchwerk kill:
We headed on to have a couple of attempts on Grobbulus, but unfortunately ran out of time, so didn't get him down. He will fall very soon though as our final attempt of the night got him down to around 25% or so.

by Gingaldo on December 23, 2008, 01:49:00 PMFor a change of scenery, we headed to the Obsidian Sanctum after Naxx 25 on Sunday for our first look at Sartharion on heroic. What can I say, the instance is small, but very well designed and has 3 mini bosses before the final boss, Sartharion. I don't think anyone will get 3 easier Emblem of Valor as the mini bosses don't hit that hard and go down fairly easily - cha-ching. You can however get better loot from the final boss if you don't kill any of the mini bosses before engaging the fight. That was for another day though... We had a couple of practice attempts on Sartharion before we got him down. The main cause for wipes is the number of adds that spawn during the fight and tidal wave ability. As long as you keep on top of the adds and moved out of the way of tidal wave, the fight is fairly straightforward. Gratz to all for another guild first and gratz to the loot winners.

by Gingaldo on December 15, 2008, 04:25:00 PMAfter last weeks Anub'rekhan and Grand Widow Faerlina kills, we headed back to Naxx heroic again last night. We saw off the first two bosses again in fairly quick succession and then cleared our way to the final boss in the quarter, Maexxna. She looks like a big scary spider, but in fact, was a fairly straight-forward fight. On our first attempt at her, we brought her down. Gratz to all for another guild first and gratz to clearing our first wing in the instance.

We then headed into the Plague Wing and had a couple of attempts on the first boss there, Noth the Plaguebringer. This fight is a bit trickier than what we've done up until now, but it won't be long before we see him fall. 13 Views | Rating: (0 rates)

by Gingaldo on December 08, 2008, 01:39:00 PMLast night brought a welcome return to 25-man raiding for Mystic Daggers. We had planned to run Naxx 10-man, but a large number of level 80 Daggers were online, so decided to shoot for the 25-man instead. Our target to start the night was in the spider wing - Anub'rekhan (or Anoob'Rekhan if you prefer). After clearing the way to the boss fairly quickly, we were ready for round one. Starting with a couple of practice rounds, it didn't take too long to work the fight out and add boss number one to our level 80 raiding kill list.

After looting and buffing, we headed on towards the second boss, Grand Widow Faerlina. The fight itself is fairly straight-forward, but one element of the fight requires a priest to MC one of the adds to remove the enrage from the boss. If you don't, its pretty much a wipe. Although, on the attempt we downed her, she was still enraged, but spam healing on the tank ensured we got her down.

Big gratz to all for coming and downing our first two bosses in the expansion. On both kills, we never lost a single raid member (even Buchi lived!). We'll be back in Naxx again and adding more new kills very soon. 40 Views | Rating: (0 rates)
